Biography
Natalia Salazar currently works at the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) headquarters in Bonn, Germany, where she leads the team of Innovative Finance. She is responsible for mobilizing capital for climate action through innovative financing mechanisms and strategic public-private partnerships.
Natalia brings experience from her previous roles at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the OPEC Fund for International Development (OPEC Fund), the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Innovation Norway. She has led programmatic operations as well as financial transactions across diverse sectors and regions, including in fragile and conflict-affected areas. Natalia has also managed relationships with key stakeholders to build collaborative initiatives that support the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Natalia’s career spans both the humanitarian and development sectors, as well as the public and private sectors. She has international experience across 6 countries: Switzerland, Austria, Ecuador, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway. She has a BA in International Affairs, and an MA in International Business and Economics and an MBA in Responsible Leadership and Sustainability.
