Biography
Sylwia is an environmental and construction lawyer based in Warsaw and a counsel in the Decarbonization practice of Osborne Clarke Poland.
Sylwia focuses on supporting clients in ensuring compliance of their operations with environmental protection and sustainability regulations. She has an extensive experience in waste management and packaging regulations, including managing of packages waste and extended producers responsibility (EPR) regimes for packaging and products. She works on anti-greenwashing policies for clients and review their communication to mitigate risk of greenwashing allegations. She works for Polish and international clients, including producers, distributors, stores, catering units, online market platforms and professional EPR schemes and deposit return scheme (DRS) operator.
Sylwia also has an experience in advising on the implementation of industrial investments (including greenfield) and linear infrastructure facilities. She supports clients in obtaining required permits (building and environmental) and drafting investment agreements (including construction and design contracts). She represents clients in disputes regarding construction contracts, advising them also on the amicable resolution procedures.
She also has an experience in arbitration disputes under international agreements on mutual support and protection of investments (BITs).
Sylwia is an attorney-at-law qualified in Poland and a lecturer at the postgraduate studies, including MBA ESG programme, providing lectures on various regulations around sustainability reporting and strategies as well as circular economy.
