Biography
Marta is an experienced economist and team leader with a proven record in developing strategic policy advice for EU policy makers. She is currently Deputy Head of Unit of the Eurogroup Secretariat hosted by the European Commission. She is advising the Presidents of the Eurogroup and of the Eurogroup Working Group on key economic and financial issues related to the Euro Area. She has notably prepared Eurogroup decisions on the successful conclusion of the Greek adjustment programme including the provision of debt relief. Previously, Marta worked as a Principal Economist at the European Central Bank (ECB) where she developed proposals to deepen integration within the Economic and Monetary Union and represented the Bank at high-level meetings. Marta studied Political Science at Sciences Po in France and holds a Master’s degree in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges and a Master's degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. I her free time, Marta enjoys travelling and kite-surfing.
