Biography
Joanna Kaminska is a Foreign Policy Advisor at the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament, where she advises the Members of the European Parliament on the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU and the European Neighbourhood Policy, in particular EU relations with the Eastern Neighbours. Prior to joining the European Parliament, she was working as a Policy Officer/Horizontal coordinator in the Secretariat General of the European Commission where she was responsible for the reform of the evidence-based decision-making system and development of the evaluation methodology in the area of external relations.
Joanna is also a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for European Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (IES-VUB), where she teaches and supervises Master students. Joanna holds PhD from University of London, Royal Holloway College (where she was a British Chevening Scholar) and published extensively on the foreign policy issues. Ms Kaminska also has experience in managing NGOs, she was a member of management board of the United World Colleges Poland for more than 10 years, organization which has granted over 250 talented, young Poles with scholarships for studying in international schools. Currently she heads the Brussels alumni office of this organization.
Before her starting her PhD she was a Director of the Eastern Program in Pulaski Foundation, a Polish think tank advising on foreign policy issues.
Joanna is also a painter. She had a number of art exhibitions in Brussels in last two years.
