Biography
Cristina has worked for the European Commission since 2006, when she joined the Economic and Financial Affairs Directorate-General as a Communication officer. Between 2010 and 2014, she worked as a Project manager and Head of Sector in charge of media networks in the Directorate-General for Communication. She then became Policy Assistant to the Director for strategy and corporate communication and the Deputy Director-General in charge of the EC Representation offices in the Member States. Since 2017 she has been Deputy Head of Unit for finance and control in DG Communication. Cristina holds a master's degree in Geography and History from the Complutense University of Madrid. She spent several terms as a visiting scholar in the universities of Columbia (New York), Paris I-La Sorbonne, and Libre de Bruxelles specialising in women studies, on which she has published several articles.
